Subject: There's "special"wedding anniversaries so why not pop culture ones?

Written By: UnderwaterEdge on 08/18/13 at 4:42 pm

A thought I had today. 50 years is a gold wedding anniversary, 25 is a silver wedding anniversary. Here's a draft I had for popular culture ones:

1st = notepad anniversary
5th = notebook anniversary
8th = textbook anniversary
12th = photo album anniversary
15th = encyclopedia anniversary
20th = history book anniversary
40th = exhibition anniversary
50th = museum anniversary

The point that the original poster is trying to make is that at each anniversary, a specific form of media that is a good reflector on how much time has passed would make the best way that people could understand it. For example, it would be too new for something just a year old to be included in a history book since its too soon to judge the full impact of such item upon future generations.

That said, here is my take:

1st = calendar anniversary
2nd = newspaper anniversary
3rd =  notepad anniversary
4th = notebook anniversary
5th = streaming online video anniversary
6th = comic strip anniversary
7th = radio anniversary
8th = textbook anniversary
10th = television anniversary
12th = photo album anniversary
15th = encyclopedia anniversary
20th = oldies station anniversary
25th = movie anniversary
30th = history book anniversary
40th = collectibles anniversary
50th = time capsule anniversary
75th = museum anniversary
100th= antiques anniversary

Like, Hi, Fer Shurr,

So, if you got married in, say, 2012, your first wedding anniversary would be marked by the gift of a 2012 calendar?
???

At first, I thought that a "pop culture" anniversary referred to a husband and a wife dressing as Bieber and Swift for their anniversary!
;D

In another 6 years my parents would be married 50 years so that would mean they would have a "time capsule anniversary"?
