Subject: "She's only the most POPULAR girl in school!"

Written By: Mat1991 on 10/12/13 at 11:12 pm

Have you ever noticed the "most popular girl in school" trope that's been going on on tween television since, what, the '90s? Have you also noticed that these aforementioned girls are usually such snooty little b****es that you can't help but wonder why everybody likes them so much?

I don't know...I'm watching Teen Nick right now.  :P

Most of the girls that were popular at my school were pretty nice. Of course you had some that were stuck up, but 80% of the girls that were pretty cool.

Also, it depends on what school you go to. I bet if I were to go to other High schools I wouldn't get a second look from any of the popular kids.

You had girls who always hung out with their BFF's, had way too makeup or was stuck up all the time.

Seems to me. Most of the time the shows featuring the queen bees are poking fun at them or make them into the villain.  Usually to be the star of the show the bitchy ones have an evolution and become less one dimentional which makes them more compelling.

I don't know. In my experience, the popular kids weren't necessarily mean (I was even friends or acquaintances with some popular kids). Then again, my high school didn't resemble at all any of the high schools portrayed in tween shows.

I somehow won Home coming King my senior year on September 2006.

Little did they know I was a mental wreck during that era of my life.
