Subject: Your views on the past several Decades

Written By: ArcticFox on 09/06/15 at 11:28 pm

Here I want you guys to post how you view each decade. Let's put those English and Writing class skills to work! I want you to: Label the best year, quintessential year, and the culmination year. They do NOT mean the same thing! If you view the quintessential year as also the best, that's fine. Of course, the best year is subjective. But culmination means "the highest or climactic of something achieved after a long period of time." Basically, the year is about as (whatever the decade is) as it gets. So here is mine, now I want to see yours!

Why is it biased to like 1995 as your favorite year of the 90s?

I'm guessing it's because he was born that year?

1994 (even though it's before I was born, I think this would have been a great year to experience as a teenager)

2003 (after much thought, I have to choose 2003 for many reasons, not the best for my personal life, but for the pop culture, it has a special place in my heart, seeing movies like Pirates of the Caribbean, Elf, Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over, Lord of the Rings: Return of the King, Finding Nemo, 2 Fast 2 Furious, Hulk, etc. Being 7 years old at the time that was probably the most epic movies I saw in one year at that point in my life. Shows like That's So Raven, All Grown Up, and Teen Titans premiered. Cartoon Network was still in its golden age as well as Toon Disney, Kids WB, and Nickelodeon for its nicktoons. This year was like a perfect balance of dominant early 2000's culture and mid 2000's culture slowly creeping in later that year. The last gasp of any late 90's influences. All the lego toys I built and the hot wheels cars/games online I collected/played with. It was crazy.)

2010 (best year of the decade so far, back when the electropop era of music peaked on all levels including so much variety of hip-hop music being so good, ALL I DO IS WIN WIN WIN NO MATTER WHAT! First full year my favorite app game of all time, Angry Birds was around. Also some great movies as well. Add my age from my favorite year of the 2000's, then you'll get my age during this year! ;D )
