Does it even matter?

Can someone please lock this thread, so that it doesn't turn out to be another ridiculous discussion of generations?

I have no clue what you're even talking about. Conformist, group is always right mentality, and want to create dystopia? I really don't follow.

Most threads related to Millennials now are just pointless and silly.

We don't need another generation-related thread.

It's more likely to be obvious. No one really wants another generation thread with X, Y, Z, Uno, Dos, Tres, or whatever.

I used to indulge in this generation defining thing, but now I reject it.

In my eyes, "generational research" is really nothing more than noodling senselessly, thinking too hard, straining your brain, grasping for something that isn't really there. Especially when these so-called "researchers" can't come up with a CONSISTENT model for these "generations" (for instance, are Millennials 1982-2004? Or are they 1980-1995? 1982-1996? 1985-2005? 1977-1994? 1981-1997? 1979-1993? 1976-1995? 1983-2000? 1982-2000? There like hundreds of definitions provided from the media, and all of them are off from one another by at least one year).

Millions of people are born every day, each raised in very different circumstances. You can't lump together a group of those born 15-25 years within each other and assign them traits just like that. It doesn't work.

Agreed! It's exactly why generations are not monolithic. Every region has their own culture and that no one is the same. However, though, I can  see the cutoff happening sooner especially since the next generation is on the rise.

We can also apply this to race/ethnicity are they are both complex subjects. I mean, not everyone who has dark-skin is considered black nor is everybody who has fair or pale-skin considered white.
