Subject: Unique Birth Patterns

Written By: HazelBlue99 on 12/28/16 at 5:14 pm

This is something which I have been thinking about for some time. For some reason, most people in my family were born in a year ending with "7" or "9".

1947 : Grandad
1949 : Nan
1949 : Great Uncle
1959 : Great Uncle
1959 : Great Uncle
1967 : Dad
1969 : Uncle
1997 : Cousin
1997 : Second Cousin
1999 : Second Cousin
1999 : Me

I'm curious to know, is it common for birth patterns like this to exist in other families? Based on what I've read, most birth years in families are mixed and don't really follow an ongoing pattern. Does your family have a unique birth pattern to it?

My brother, my dad, and my sister were all born in February, just a few days away from one another.

That's an interesting coincidence  :o

I can't say I have anything similar in my family. I do have the "birthday train" that Zelek has though, with me and my siblings and closest cousins' birthdays all packed into late January - early April.

Yeah. my family does, but with not years though. We have birthdays spanning from Summer to Winter and then there's a break for Spring.

My brother and I have birthdays exactly two weeks apart from each other, and the same thing goes with my parents' birthdays.

Let's see...on my mom's maternal side of the family, she had a cousin and a cousin-once-removed (my second-cousin) who were born exactly 30 years apart. The older cousin is now deceased, however. :(

My mom's maternal side had another "unique" birth pattern.

She and two of her maternal cousins were born within a two-month span 65 years ago: My mom was born on the 21st of November; one cousin was born 40 days after that (New Years Eve) and another cousin was born 4 days after that (Jan. 4th)!
