I think I am lucky to have parents relatively close in age to me. My grandfather was born in 1932, and was 32 by the time my dad was born in 1964, so there was a huge generation gap between them and they never could relate that well. My dad didn't like a whole lot of the stuff I listened to growing up (like Limp Bizkit, Creed, etc.), but I did love a lot of his favorite bands from the '70s and '80s like Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, and ZZ Top, and I used to listen to his old records all the time as a kid.

It's amazing to think about really. I'm in a similar situation in regards to when I was born and how old my parents were. They got married in 1990, when they were 26 and 23 years old respectively. I have no siblings, so theoretically, I really could have been born at any point between 1990 and 2000, which was when they split up. I really wish I could have been born a few years earlier, to be honest. Although, considering the fact they split up at the end of 2000, it's lucky that I was even born at all!

My uncle from my dad's side (who was born in June 1964) found disco and glam metal to be stupid (no offense to your family). He was more of a hard rock and heavy metal guy.

My music tastes are also hard rock and heavy metal (sort of like the uncle I was talking about in a previous post). When I was younger (back when we had XM radio), my dad would frequently play 50's and 60's music, and it would often be played in the car. However, as I grew older, we lost XM radio, which led me to listening to a Classic Rock station that played music from around 1964 to 1985 (roughly from British Invasion to the time just before Bon Jovi).

Just looking at these posts had made me thought of something. I always thought it was uncommon for people to have older parents, but then I noticed it's been going on for some time now. In fact, I have many friends who have older parents themselves including one which shook me. One day, a high school friend of mine had parents come into class with her, I asked her if they were her grandparents since they had Gray hair, and looked elderly.. She said no and that they were her actual parents. :o :o
