I suppose so!

I also registered on Hotmail in that year...but I quit using it circa 2006 due to too much spam building up in it.

Anyway... I first used the internet in 1998, sometime during the first half of the year, when I was a senior in high school...but I didn't start going on it regularly until the second half of the year, when I started college. Even then I could only go on there at school (college) because I wasn't online at home.

But my first online profile was probably my original Hotmail email account, which I created in early 1999, as mentioned in my above post.

You had an email account at 6 years old?

The earliest I remember using the internet was around 1999 or 2000 on my aunt's computer. I was eight years old and my aunt showed me a Disney site that featured Tarzan, if I recall correctly.

Unfortunately, my teenage cousin at the time f***ed s**t up by "accidentally" accessing a porn site with me right next to him.  :P

I first registered an email address in 2002 on Yahoo. That was also the year I started posting on message boards. The first message board I joined was on Nickelodeon's site.

I first used it in 2003 when I searched up cheat codes ;D. As for email, that would be 2004 on AOL.

I started using the internet around 2008, when I was 6, I was into YouTube videos and Super Smash Flash.

It wasn't until 2012, when I was 10, that I created a Facebook and YouTube accounts, and yes, I uploaded videos to it. The rest is history.

Yep, I used it for MSN to talk to relatives abroad. My dad made it for me.

Ah okay. That makes perfect sense. You did travel a lot when you were younger.

First used the internet in the early 00s for Playhouse Disney and Neopets.
Though back then I used the computer more for Humongous Entertainment CD-Rom games.

I had a GeoCities website back in 1998.

I remember going there a lot in the late 1990s/early 2000s. Mainly due to google-searching and having some of the results come up with that domain.

I got a Friendster in 2006, but my mom made it and I didn't use it much because at the time, most people, including me, thought social media was for vapid teens. My first forum account was made when I was 12 going on 13 on escforum.net, and I still use it today.

I remember using the Internet as early as 2007 at age 5. I was learning how to search things up especially on Google and YouTube, but I didn't really sign up for any social media until late 2012. That was when I made my very first YouTube account.

If we're talking about when we first used the internet by ourselves without any instance by our parents, then that would be 2002 for me. Back during the early internet days for kids around 1999-2003 we went on websites that were advertised by kids stations or toys. Disney.com, CartoonNetwork.com, Nick.com, Pokemon.com, PlanetHotWheels.com, Legos.com, YahooKids.com, Shockwave.com, etc. No major social media sites in existence yet such as MySpace, Facebook, YouTube, or Twitter. It was a blast.

You didn't use the internet AT ALL from 2003-2005!? Not even get on any of the kid websites!? I mean you probably just focused on CD-ROM games anyway which qualifies as cool with me.

We didn't have internet/a computer at home until like 2007. Even at school I didn't see a computer in a classroom until I was 8 or something. :/

I believe it was in 2003 when I was 4, I used the Internet on my aunt's computer. I remember my mom showing me how to use it, then she left me there and I was on it for an hour or so.

The first time I started actively using the Internet was in 2005/06. I mainly used Google and played browser games, got hooked on YouTube in late '06/early '07. If I created accounts back then, I always used my parents emails and stuff until I was 12, which is when I got my own email.

Oh, random memory just popped in my head, I remember in what I believe was around 2007, that a YouTuber between 3,000 to 10,000 subs (it was somewhere in that range) started messaging me randomly and subbed to my channel, lol (I'm assuming so I would sub back to his). I haven't been able to find his channel since then, but I remember subscribing back and watching his content, his videos were mostly comedy sketches from what I remember.

I thought this thread was when we first left our mark on the Internet.

If we're talking about when we first went on it, then it would be sometime in 1997 or 1998 for me. I know at my school we already had Windows computers at school during 1997-1998 school year, because I would go on Paint at school lol. First time I clearly remember using Internet was in 1998-1999 school year when we were being taught how to use a search engine at school, but I was already semi-aware of things like "www" and ".com" from what I remember, so I'm sure I was on it before that.

If it counts, "Princess Sally" on an electronic bulletin board my friend Liz's school used (my folks and I were picking up Liz for something.) Around 94.
Then I would go onto the Barney Fun Page and all those anti Barney newsgroups, yet I never had a handle. I used to go on Sega's website, too.
My first email was RoseQuartz2000@AOL.com.

I first used the Internet in 2003. The funny thing is I used just Windows Media Guide trough Windows Media Player ;D I finally started using a web browser at home in 2004. I don't remembe the first sites, maybe ICQ, which was big in my country back then. I remember the first forum I registered in 2005. I miss the feeling of discovering the Internet for the first time when it was fresh to me. I used dial-up and I remember that dial-up sound. :) I didn't know I've become glued to the web and addicted to it however.

Even in 2010 the Internet was so different than today.
Back in the early 2000s it was mostly about chatrooms, IRC, AIM, MSN Messenger and ICQ.
I hate the modern websites where there is only touchscreen mode, the flat design trend and the constant vertical scroll. While ads used to be little banners or buttons, now they are larger boxes or even sneakily merged with the background of a website making adblockers almost a must.
