Subject: How Many People Are Alive By Birthyear (US Born)

Written By: SeaCaptainMan97 on 05/16/18 at 7:01 pm

Found this interesting source on 24/7 Wallstreet.
Unfortunately, it only goes back to 1933, so if anyone has any information on approximate number of people alive today born in 1901-1932, I'd like to see it.

Here's the source for how many people born each year since 1933 are still alive;

Very interesting numbers indeed.
I noticed quite a lot of 2000s borns already died, especially compared to 90s ones which are older, a reason for that :o?

Is this really accurate? ???

Why wouldn't it? How many people do you know who didn't see their 45th birthday? Seems legit to me. ???
Did anybody else notice the huge drop from 1945 to 1946?  :o

2000 and 2001 are still in 90's levels, with the former having 98.6% alive and the latter having 98.5% alive.

For 2002, it drops to 96.7%.
For 2003, 95.8%

The big drop is from 2005 to 2006, where it drops from 96.1% alive to 93.9% alive.

The big rise is from 2009 to 2010, where it rises from 94.9% alive to 98.1% alive.

I noticed that too. I have no idea what could've caused that, maybe a rise in viruses or something? Good thing the numbers have recovered for those born in the 2010's.

Sad Fact: The youngest victim of the 9/11 attacks was a 2 year old girl who was born in February 1999 :\'(.

RIP to her. She was with her parents on one of the planes that crashed into the Twin Towers.

Just terrible :\'(.

Could the anti-vaccination movement be the reason why the percentage of 2000s borns alive is lower than the decades around it? in 1998, a study (which was later debunked) suggested a link between vaccination and autism and apparently fueled the movement which might have made some ignorant parents refuse to give their children vaccines later on.

Also 99.9% of '97 borns are still alive which is the highest percentage on the list, guess it's the best birthyear as well 8)

Yeah, the percentages in the late 2000s are pretty low considering all of the 80s years and even some 70s ones have higher ones. Maybe the recession affected that?

The rise from the 94.9% of 2009 to the 98.1% of 2010 is nice though.

Does this include people who have gone missing and never found?

I would say that the Anti-Vaccination Movement, the War on Terror, the Iraq War, and the Recession may have all impacted it.

Kinda sad that only 93.7% of 2007 babies are still alive today, that's a year I remember pretty well, not sure what caused this.

It's really weird that 95% of people born in 1987 are still alive but only 93.7% of people born in 2007 are alive, tbh it's doesn't make any sense.  ???

3.3% are deceased.

100 - 96.7 = 3.3

Easy math!

Lmao okay then.

Kinda sad that only 93.7% of 2007 babies are still alive today (which means 6.3% of 2007 babies are deceased.) That's a year I remember pretty well, not sure what caused this.

Yeah. I'm not sure if this is actually true or accurate but if it is then I wonder why.

I think it's accurate enough. 24/7 Wall St. is a better source than a Millennial's BuzzFeed article.

Do BuzzFeed articles even show how many births of each year and how many people born in that year are still alive?  ;D

Are the likes of Jimmy Hoffa included in the data?

I wonder how many 2006 are deceased speaking of Sandy Hook.

Guys the numbers are higher/lower for the 1990s/2000s because of immigration. ;D

Although some drops are quite steep :o
