Subject: The Album Title is in the Lyrics

Written By: whistledog on 03/13/21 at 10:58 pm

Sometimes, the title of an album is a lyric or phrase found in one of the songs on the album.  Know of any?

Elton John - Ice on Fire (1985)
The lyric in the hit song Nikita goes:  "With eyes that look like ice on fire"

Spark to A Flame: The Very Best of Chris De Burgh (1989)
Taken from the lyric of his 1984 hit High on Emotion:  "Yeah here we go again, we are moving from a spark to a flame"

Neil Young & Crazy Horse
"Rust Never Sleeps"
The lyric is in the album closer "Hey Hey, My My (Into The Black)". Not to be confused with the album opener "My My, Hey Hey (Out of the Blue").

"it's better to burn out because rust never sleeps..."

Starship “We Built This City” contains the album name in the lyrics. Knee Deep in the Hoopla.

Also Pink Floyd “High Hopes” contains the album name in the lyrics. The Division Bell.

One more. Belinda Carlisle “Big Scary Animal” the chorus goes “It’s too real”. Album name is Real. I know it’s just one word, but it’s one of my favorite albums start to finish and I’m sure that’s where the reference comes in.

On Sara Bareilles' 2010 album Kaleidoscope Heart, she mentions that phrase in one track, "Uncharted."
