Today has been on and off with the weather. It's currently 56 degrees out. Cloudy.

Should have alot of snow and ice by the end of tomorrow. Not near as much as some people have had lately, but the ice is what I'm not looking forward to.  :P

Can someone please explain to me how the weather people "measure" how many inches of snow you've gotten?  There is at least 5" on my sidewalk but they're saying we've only gotten 2-3 ???

I think they are taking into account the packing factor, i.e. how the snow kinda melts and packs into each other after a few hours.  The snow that falls in the first hour is more fluff than pack.

Snow is still smacking us.  I can no longer tell where the yard ends and the sidewalk begins.

It's a freakin snow blizzard!!!!

It is FRIGID!!!!!  The snow can now been seen on the radar but it is still a while away. But tonight it is going to hit and will probably snow all day tomorrow. They are calling for over a foot.  :o :o :o  Luckily we got a snowblower we bought at an auction a few weeks ago for $5  ;D ;D (but had to pay $25 to get it fixed-still a GREAT deal, though.) 


So much for going out for a romantic Valentine's dinner-so we will have a romantic Valentine's dinner IN.  ;)

we are starting to warm a bit which means sleet and freezing rain. We only had about an 1 1/2

I miss those days.  I remember standing out in front of our apartment building, shoveling a parking space out for my mom and then having to stand there so that no one would take it before she got home.

Mayor Daley once joked that winter was the only time of the year murder was legal because if you spent all day shoveling out a parking spot and putting crap in it to block it off and someone stole it....it was justifiable homicide.

:o Wow!

Sunny and blustery cold about 25 degrees.I'm the only one in the family to shovel since my parents are arthritic.My father tried to shovel but It's too hard as a rock to break.We'll just have to wait till the sun melts it all away.

It's 14 degrees right now and it's supposed to get down to -2 tonight. Due to a shift change at work I had the opportunity to take today and tomorrow off and I thought, "You know, I really don't feel like freezing my butt off tonight," so I accepted (despite the fact that it'll cut deeply into next week's paycheck).

sunny and warm today, almost short sleeve weather, and then still warm at night, with a beautiful clear sky, Orion was clearly visible and Betelgeuse was unusually bright and shiny.  enjoying it while it lasts because rain is just around the corner.

Ahhh...Phoenix weather is the best! :)  I miss it.

The thing that annoys me about our weather the most is the fact that the best part of summer just happens to be the latter 3rd. (Mid-Feb to Mid-Mar) And by this time everything has gone back to normal (work, school, etc) so it's harder to enjoy it. The weather during the holiday period of late Dec & early Jan was crap in comparison. Typical.

So yeah, it's been fine and sunny since Monday, with cooler, wetter weather due on... (wait for it!) Saturday & Sunday.  ::)

The big storm we were supposed to get didn't arrive last night, but it's begining now.  While I was driving to work, it was the whole "calm before the storm" thing.  The skys were dark grey, the air was a little too still, and there was just a strong feeling of foreboding.  It always freaks me out a little.  All of the cars on the freeway were going about ten miles slower than usual, and there were snowplows everywhere - it was like they were patrolling the streets, getting ready for it to hit.  By the time I got here it was blizzarding.  The wind just about carried me off as I was trying to get to the building!

It's only in the low 30s, but the sun is shining, so I'll take that anyday over what we've been having.

What was really weird was that it snowed about 6 inches at my work, but when I got down into the valley there were maybe 2.  (I work up in the foothills.)  Down here was nothing like up there - it really trips me out.
