EEEEEEK - I have tried several varieties (the theory always seems to be a good one) - but they all fail me. We even used to make fruit cakes at our house for gifts... It is fun to make.
But I think it is the soaking down cheese cloths with Brandy and letting it ferment for 6 weeks is were the failure is.... Something ain't right

There are different types of fruit cake, my grandmother use to make it like a loaf of bread with just a little amount of fruits & nuts. I 've also had some from a local grocery store where it was plastered with fruit and nut meat that wasn't that good.
Grandma's kind was good (as long as she didn't burn the bread)

Problem 1 - it is in my 3 seasons porch (let me tell you - this ain't the season - there is thick frost on all the windows)
Problem 2 - my husband just called and told me 1 had to be somewhere in 1 hour (like I am going to do 1 hour of elliptical on my first day back at it- HA)

Thank you - and my feelings exactly... Our heater works perfectly fine, the three season porch has old windows (and no storm windows on them) and there are 11 windows on 3 walls. With only one pane of glass seperating them from the outside, yes they have frost and it is cool - which is why we keep the door closed to out there. But we have new windows ordered for the space, so that should help immensely. But it is really fine to do elliptical - since it is cool (you don't have to worry about getting toooo warm).

The house was built in 1918 - so there is only the old leaky windows in the house (with single panes of glass) - and a screen on the outside... So there is no "insulating" air cushion between the 2 pieces of glass to reduce heat loss, and drafts and such

were did oranges come into this conversation ??? Ash is being spontaneous again - But YEAH - I love oranges, clementine, pummelos, and grapefruit (I do not like tangerines or tangelos though - for some reason that I can not put my finger on) 8)

No - I do not think so.... I have tried the taste test - and just not a fan of the tangerine

well here is the thing - I can enjoy a clementine (or atleast the Sweetie ones I get at the store in the crates).... not fond tangerines though
