Well, I don't wear any scents(besides deodorant) other than the ones my body makes normally.

This particular time was at a bus stop. I was just minding my own business, waiting for a bus.

It's happened 4 times in total in different places.

Two times, it was bisexual guys, the other two gays.

1st time was at my job, I asked what the customer(a white guy) wanted, he said "he didn't care" and then told me he was "bisexual". This one wasn't a big deal.

2nd time, I was at the laundry mat, this black guy started talking to me, I made a big mistake in this case. He actually asked me if "I lived alone". Luckily I wasn't stupid enough to tell him. I said "I was single". A major error I made saying that(but at least I didn't tell him I live alone), he then mentioned shortly afterward that he was "bisexual and interested in me". I told him that I'm straight. This was the second most awkward situation, but at least he wasn't vulgar or lewd.

3rd time, I was walking to the laundry mat(it's two blocks from where I live) and this one white guy says "Hi", I say "Hey". He started following me and asked if he could "walk with me". I didn't answer him and started moving faster to get away from him. I went into the laundry mat, he walk up to the outside, looked in, seemed disapointed and walked away. I think he was gay(because no one normally would ask a stranger if they could walk with them).

4th time, at the bus stop. I'm trying to figure out to explain this one, as he was incredibly lewd toward me. I'm sitting at the stop and I see this black guy cross the street, he walks up to me and tells me that "he likes to **** d***", I just said "so?" That didn't stop him from asking me further sexual questions(which actually counts as sexual harrassment, but it just annoyed me more than anything else). When a woman walked up, he shut up for awhile(I wished she didn't leave), but after she went off to the side to call someone on her cell phone he started asking me more questions. The funny thing is how he asked me. He said "Can I ask you a question without offending you?" I told him "I'm heterosexual", but he still tried to convince me to accept his offer. Oh, this guy liked "blondes"(I'm blonde and after that seriously awkward situation, I actually thought about dying my hair a different color).

I think part of the reason why I have gotten attention from bisexuals/gays is because of my hair color(blondes do tend to get more attention in general, regardless of orientation or gender. Why, I don't know).

The tumor was in the medolablastoma in the brain.  It caused me to throw up green fluid.  I still did a lot of throwing up afterwords all day while having the radiation treatment.  Some time later when I started going back to school, I'd still have to throw up once every morning.  I had to take some medicine for a while to correct my head.  Then I got a stroke at 16 from the radiation ( shot through the left ear). half my body was paralyzed for two days and weakened.  Also I got double vision.  Anyway it's been taken care of and I hope my worst is over. 

The tumor was in the medolablastoma in the brain.  It caused me to throw up green fluid.  I still did a lot of throwing up afterwords all day while having the radiation treatment.  Some time later when I started going back to school, I'd still have to throw up once every morning.  I had to take some medicine for a while to correct my head.  Then I got a stroke at 16 from the radiation ( shot through the left ear). half my body was paralyzed for two days and weakened.  Also I got double vision.  Anyway it's been taken care of and I hope my worst is over. 


Awww, I am sorry to know you have been so ill. What does the medolablastoma control if it caused you to throw up? Has the double vision cleared up?

It seems like you are over the worst and that operation will sort your ear out in no time I am sure.  ;)

Why did you need botox injections? I thought they were used for cosmetic purposes.

I had my eyes operated on to cure strabismus (a common muscular problem where both eyes aren't looking in the same place at the same time). I don't know why I didn't have it done sooner as it is completely cured and removed my occassional double-vision. What I would get quite often was two points (say for example a lampshade) would split into two and then slowly come together to form the 'proper' lampshade. I was so used to it. My eye doctor said not many people get their strabismus corrected on the NHS because they believe it is a cosmetic thing and not a visual thing. I urge anybody with this eye condition to get it done.  8)

I was lying on a hospital bed for about four hours before I could even open my eyes the pain was too much. It is comparable to having painful bloodshot eyes but multiply that by a 100. However, I feel more confident now.

Whatever your doctor is about to do, I am sure he has a lot of experience in surgery and will know exactly what to do when the time comes for you to have your operations. Do you reckon you will need a hearing aid or the surgery will sort out the radiation problem itself?

Holy crap.  Congrats to your doc on catching Medulloblastoma in time. The nausea is a classic symptom of increased intracranial pressure -- nerdspeak for "big tumor growing really fast in a skull that isn't moving" -- and the throwing up after/during the treatment was a combination of the high pressure before the tumor began to shrink in size, plus a hint of radiation sickness, and if you were also on chemo, then probably that, too. 

But you're still alive and posting here, so what you went through was a hell of a lot better than the alternative.  If your age is as stated in your profile, and you went through it at the age you describe, and your doctor agrees with my wild-assed, never-had-any-medical-training, guess your treatment nailed it and you don't have anything more to worry about from it.


Why did you need botox injections? I thought they were used for cosmetic purposes.


I had my eyes operated on to cure strabismus (a common muscular problem where both eyes aren't looking in the same place at the same time)

Botox deadens nerves and muscles. 

Strabisimus is caused by lots of things - and often treated by weakening the stronger muscle. Sometimes that's one by surgery, and since the discovery that botulinum toxin (Botox) could be used to do it in 1980, that's been the other way to do it.  Botox was first used to treat strabismus, and it was only later that it was discovered that it also made frowny strained faces look a bit plasticy, but younger.  The cosmetic application makes a boatload more money for the company, but it was originally designed for a serious purpose. 

Also from that article, "A strabismus may be a sign of increased intracranial pressure, as CN VI is particularly vulnerable to damage from brain swelling, as it runs between the clivus and brain stem."  Well, that's where we started from -- that brain cancer, and the brain swelling is part and parcel of having a rapidly-growing ounce (then two, then three...) of badness in a 3-pound skull.  So that probably explains the double vision, too.  If the nerve was damaged due to the high pressure, it may not come back - even though cancer's been well and soundly nuked and the pressure returned to normal.

(Disclaimer: I'm not a doctor.  I just ask the interooglepediaweb thingy and make wild-assed guesses based on what passes through its collective BS detector.  Got a medical problem?  Talk to a doctor, because he or she has actually done science, rather than just reading about it.)

No Howard, it's an important job, you should take your work seriously, but just don't let the customers get to ya. Ya need thicker skin. Try and let it bounce off you. It's not easy, keep trying.  :)

OK, spelling corrected. In Canada we only learn spelling in Grade 12 (and only for 2 weeks also).
