Here's one for me that I almost did.  So Dude111 started a thread called "oldies anyone?" where he linked radio stations that play 50s through 70s music.  He's always linking stuff, so as a gag, I thought up a phoney website and thus started to post a link to grannies gone wild dot com and mention how this site has oldies in their 60s through their 80s.  Just to be on the safe side, I tested that address and it actually exists.  Naturally I didn't post it, but I saw things I can never unsee :\'( ;D

Remember when I had those characters in my username that messed up the forum?  I forget what the character was, but when I put it in my screen name, it shifted the format of the boards one space to the left on pages with my name visible, mostly via topics I started

And by putting that character in my screen name, when I'd go into my profile, it was nothing but a blank screen.  It took me about a half hour until I accidentally viewed a favourites page in my history folder that allowed me to get into my profile and fix my name ;D

That was in early September 2005...but I missed it. I just know that in one of the Penguin News threads about censored words, so many folks had been noticing/complaining that everytime someone posted a word with that substring, it would show up like that...and there are tons of words in the English language with the "ass" substring! That was ridiculous.

Actually, we didn't have other people's profiles...just altered usernames. For example, Tia was "Tamera", and Quirk was "Quark", Mr. Mister was "Twisted Sister"...and bookmistress4ever's alias was changed to something wacky like "catmisstress4eva!" My alias, surprisingly, just had all of its letters changed to capitals, with a couple exclamation marks on the end.


What do you think the mods should have changed it to then?


I dunno...maybe something like "nilly-nally"? :D


Well, whatever. I'm sure it would have been funny regardless of what it was changed to.

Yes! I remember that so well. Yeah, those unicode characters can screw up the webpage. Some people even complained about their browsers crashing because of that.

That (February 2006) was back in the day when we could delete our own threads...but the admins disabled that option because it got too abused. But I regained the milestone the next day, and have never looked back.

Less than a year later, I'd gotten to 80,000...but the moderators were apparently cleaning up the boards, deleting a few posts/threads here and there, and I was affected...so I made it back up there again...hitting the milestone at least 3 times altogether. :D

Good good, though pretty much the same. Well, apart from some kidney stones (last January) that costed me some two and a half days in hospital. One's out, one might be still in. That's why I'm still seeing the urologist (next check-up in a year from now).

Can't forget the moment with BECKS! After the thread honoring him was kept alive for a while (thanks partially to me), his account was re-activated on April Fools Day 2006. We all thought he was actually returning, but it was Chucky playing a joke on us. ;D

actually judging from Jeffs past posts I'd believe he actually remembers the month and year. He seems to retain that kind of detail for years....

of course.. I usually remember the exact dates (or in some cases, a ballpark figure) on which I've achieved a milestone in my post count. I won't be making another thread of that nature until I hit 200,000.
