I doubt it. Maybe she just deleted her account. The only glitches I know of that have happened in the past couple weeks are 1] users getting banned by mistake, and 2] my post count (and Philip's and Indy's) dropping by a couple hundred due to deletion of a mystery thread. :-\\

Sorry but I won't be the one to expose them, since they really have been harmless. There are quite a few that have had more accounts than one anyway...doesn't always mean it's right, it depends on what they do with it. Just posting seems alright but actually hurting someone, like forming a deep friendship or soemthing is something I never did and never would have. At least it's done now.

One I used to write parodies under and used almost exclusively in the parody related threads, the other, which I haven't used now in probably a year was only for when I wanted to post without being PM'd.... I think it was just a joke and we should of all played along instead of jumping all over him... it became very obvious everyone knew by the comments they posted, i wish everyone could of shown a bit more wit and played along in a fun way, many people on this site are such hypocrites, they laugh when they are supposed to laugh, they jeer when they are supposed to jeer, how about being yourselves and let other people be themselves for the last time i looked this board is called "the playful penguin place" and I believe having multiple profiles can be playful, the lesbian "fake" profile was a lot more amusing then some of the lame "fake" profiles I've seen on this site... now all you stone throwers go pick up your stones for you may need them again... PS I think it took "stones" to post such a profile ;D

I dont' see any problem with having multiple accounts/personas if you are honest.  For example, AL-B has become La Sine Pesroh and he has stated in posts "I am the original Al-B" and he has "Al-B" in his sigline or by his avatar, somewhere where it is easily visible.   If someone wants to create multiple accounts but isn't claiming to have a different NAME, LOCATION, AGE, SEX, etc that is fine with me but there is a certain level of trust on this board - and i think that is what keeps many of us here, even though there are hundreds of message boards out there... so when you cross the line to claming you are someone you aren't, that is not cool, in my opinion...

Ok, this question is going to need to be addressed sooner or later, so I think we should deal with it now, so that this whole thing can be put to rest soon...  Here are my two cents on what the guidelines should be:

If you feel the need to create a multiple screen name, say, for example you want to keep your political thread posts separate from your PPP posts, I don't see a big deal with that... but..either put your true location/sex/age or leave it blank... don't put phony stuff like saying you're female if you're male... or saying you're 18 if you're 45... and don't post things about yourself that are outright lies... like "Well, I live in Florida and the law here states that..." when you actually live in California.  Even better, just put your AKA's under your avatar or in your sigline like people often do when they change their screen name...  that eliminates the question of whether it was meant to deceive, but you can still have fun with it and it will still serve its purpose...  as long as the user doesn't have bad intentions, i can't see why they would have a problem making it known who they are.

That sounds great but there is no way to enforce that.  I also don't know if Chucky can limit the number of accounts to one computer because both Carlos and I use the same computer (but we use different e-mails on our accounts). As far as I can see, we just have to rely on the integrity of members.

Well, I think Chucky probably has better things to do than worry about people using duplicate accounts... I wouldn't expect him to make a concrete rule about it, because yes, it is hard to enforce. (Although, Cat, I know you are actually Don Carlos but I won't tell anyone ;) ;D)  But I think many of our eyes are open now and we (the members) are likely to catch it if someone else is doing this and happens to slip up... All I ask of Chucky is that when asked, that he will confirm or deny that ip's are the same.  For the sake of just letting this all go, I will buy Mark's explanation that he didn't know it would be a big deal... but as of now everyone should know that if they do this, and get caught, they will become a big public spectacle and will lose a lot of credibility... so this is the perfect opportunity to stop.

You seem very quick to defend, Jiminy, lol. You don't seem to be the kind of person to get too passionate about things so I find this quite intriguing.

I have said it before, it's the intention and if somebody is willing to decieve for so long, it is worrying regardless of the apparent motivation. I don't buy it one little bit and, I'm a guy with a sense of humour, see no joking motivation within the 'Superfreak' incarnation.

I think "Superfreak" was a board member BEFORE I got here. I went into the archive and while I couldn't find exactly when "Superfreak" joined, there were posts from 2002.  That is a long time.
